The year 2016 has been marked as the ‘Golden Jubilee Year’ as Hansraj Model School, one of the forerunners in the DAV chain of Public Schools, completes its glorious 50 years of service.

Under the aegis of the ‘Smritiyan Aur Sankalp’ initiative to mark the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Hansraj Model School, Punjabi Bagh, ‘RashtraBhasha Parv’ was solemnized from August 22-31, 2016.

Sumitra Nandan Pant has rightly said, “Hindi is the simplest source of expression of our Nation.” However, it has to be mentioned that now Hindi, the National Language of India, is spoken by millions of people not only in the native country, but also in several other countries of the world. Keeping the admiration and reputation of Hindi Language in consideration and to enlighten the students more about this language, varied and diverse activities and competitions were planned.

Around 3500 enthusiastic students from Classes III to X participated in the following activities and competitions:

•             Class III                 :               ‘Haasya Kavita’;

•             Class IV                 :               ‘Advertisement’;

•             Class V                  :               ‘Prashnottari’;

•             Class VI                 :               ‘Natya Manchan’;

•             Class VII               :               ‘Katha Vaachan’;

•             Class VIII              :               ‘Kaavya Vaachan’;

•             Class IX                 :               ‘Doha Gaayan’;

•             Class X                  :               ‘Nukkad Natak’.

The finale of the ‘RashtraBhasha Parv’ held on August 31, 2016 was presided over by the honourable Mr. Ravinder Kumar (Secretary, DAVCMC and Manager HRMS), along with the Chief Guest Dr. Ravi Sharma (HOD, Hindi Department, SRCC, Delhi University), who is also a well-known writer, a charismatic speaker and an expressive poet; he also has to his credit over 500 compositions of poems, and has been acclaimed for his contributions to establish Hindi in India and outside too. He plays a significant role by supervising various Hindi workshops and has earned several awards for his dedicated endeavours.

Mr. Ravinder Kumar appreciated the efforts undertaken by the School to make the event a success and also congratulated the School Principal, Ms. Heemal Handoo Bhat for her intiatives.
