The National Institute of Cleanliness Education and Research (NICER) acknowledged and presented the ‘Clean School of the Year Award 2016’ to Hansraj Model School on the World Youth Skills Day (July 15, 2016) at India International Centre, Lodi Estate.
NICER is a division of Afro-Asian-American Chamber of Commerce, Occupational Research and Development (ACCORD) and has undertaken the task of “translating the vision” of our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi to ensure a cleaner and greener India.
The awards were conferred in the honourable presence of Mr. Utkarsh Sharma (Director and Convenor, NICER), Dr. Priya Ranjan Trivedi (Chancellor and President of Confederation of Indian Universities), International VIPs and Diplomats from Bulgaria, Zambia, Guinea and Indonesia and several Chancellors, Presidents, Vice Chancellors and other Functionaries of Universities from India and Abroad. Awards and appreciations were bestowed upon the the dignitaries who later, addressed the audience and shared knowledge about the various initiatives taken by them and their plans regarding Cleanliness Awareness through Skilling of Youth not only in India, but worldwide.
In this respect, a national survey was conducted in which 30 schools were shortlisted out of 3000 as the ‘Clean Schools’ and recognized their efforts in carrying forward the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Hansraj Model School has always been connected with the community and nation at large and is known for its community services and sensitization programmes to spread awareness regarding the various environmental issues. The award was received by Team Hansraj lead by the Principal, Ms. Heemal Handoo Bhat, accompanied by three teachers, Ms. Pooja Maurya, Ms. Pradeep Kaur and Ms. Seema Arora and five students. The school is ready with more enterprises to make the venture a success.
